June 30, 2009 - Available in sizes from ½-5 in. OD with ±0.00025 in. tolerance, Optical Substrates for Coaters feature 1/10 per wave flatness/in., parallelism to 2 arc-sec, and surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig per MIL-PRF-13830, depending upon material and configuration. Lenses can be supplied plano-convex and -concave, biconvex and -concave, and meniscus; windows and substrates can be plane, wedged, and tapered. Optical substrates are available in wide variety of materials.

A broad range of high precision lenses, windows, and substrates offered in a wide variety of optical materials especially designed for optical coaters is being introduced by Meller Optics, Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island.

Meller Optical Substrates for Coaters feature 1/10th per wave flatness per inch, parallelism to 2 arc-sec, and surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig per MIL-PRF-13830, depending upon the material and configuration. Available in sizes from ½" to 5" O.D. with ±0.00025" tolerance, Meller Optical Substrates for Coaters include: sapphire, ruby, Yag, fused silica, spinel, germanium, silicon, zinc selenide, zinc sulfide, calcium fluoride, barium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, BK-7, quartz, and common laser glasses.
