Geared Slewing Rings do not require any lubrication.

June 17, 2009 - Using self-lubricating, low friction polymer sliding elements, Geared PRT slewing rings can replace ball bearings or rolling elements in many applications. Toothed belt can be mounted on either inner or outer ring of bearing, depending on type of drive configuration required. Available in plastic, aluminum, or stainless steel, bearings suit semiconductor and cleanroom applications, assembly lines, machine tools, and medical and solar industries. Product can also be custom designed.

New Geared Slewing Rings for All Environments

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - June 11, 2009 - igus® has added a new geared slewing ring bearing to its line of cost effective, low noise iglide® "PRT" modules. Geared PRT slewing rings are extremely cost-effective and can be used in place of expensive ball bearings or rolling elements in many applications. igus' standard PRT slewing rings use self-lubricating, low friction polymer sliding elements in place of ball bearings. The geared version is set apart by the addition of a sprocket and a toothed system to drive the slewing ring.

Geared PRT slewing rings do not require any lubrication, which saves time and reduces maintenance. A toothed belt can be mounted on either the inner or outer ring of the bearing, depending on the type of drive configuration required. The unique design makes the geared module ready to install, which enables design engineers to cut costs and decrease supply base and lead times.

The geared PRT slewing ring is available in plastic, aluminum or stainless steel, with no minimum order requirements. It is suitable for all environments; in particular, semiconductor and cleanroom applications, assembly lines, machine tools, production facilities and the medical and solar industries. igus can also custom design this bearing to customers' specifications.
