Macdermid Autotype Introduces New Environmentally Responsible Combination Ink and Stencil Remover

ROLLING MEADOWS, Illinois, May 21, 2009 - MacDermid Autotype, the world's leading manufacturer of specialised films and chemicals for screen print and industrial graphics, and a leading proponent of Green Practices in the printing industry, announces the availability of CPS Aquastrip 21, a new stencil and ink remover formulated to offer excellent performance while being environmentally friendly.

According to the company, CPS Aquastrip 21 removes plastisol and other general textile and UV inks simultaneously with the stencil. Designed primarily for use in dip tanks, with screens pressure-washed clean after soaking for just a few minutes, CPS Aquastrip 21 may also be used manually with a spray or brush, as well as in automatic reclaiming equipment. The company states that new CPS Aquastrip 21 offers the additional benefit of also being able to remove some residual ink staining from the screen.

Neil Bolding, Business Support Manager for MacDermid Autotype, stated, "We're proud of what this new product represents. It's a challenge to maintain Environmental Best Practices while still getting the job done efficiently - especially when you're talking about something as potentially volatile as cleaning chemistry. But the new CPS Aquastrip 21 contains absolutely no VOCs. And any residue remaining after use can easily be collected in a filtration system, minimizing solid waste that would ordinarily go to the drain. Aquastrip 21 is part of the company's continuing emphasis on helping our customers be as "green" as possible while still achieving the highest levels of productivity and performance."

The new ink and stencil remover is available in a single pack as a concentrate. A water dilution ratio of 1:10 is the company's initial recommendation.
