DALSA Introduces New Falcon 4M60/4M30 Color Cameras

Ideal for Electronics and other Machine Vision Inspection

WATERLOO, ONTARIO - May 4th, 2009 - DALSA [TSX: DSA], a global leader in machine vision technology, today announced the addition of the Falcon 4M60 and 4M30 Color to its family of Falcon global shutter cameras. Capable of running at 60fps with 4 megapixel resolution, the Falcon 4M60 color is today's choice for leading edge color applications in electronics inspection, semiconductor inspection, and imaging markets. The implementation of color imaging makes it even easier to find defects in these demanding inspection applications.

The Falcon 4M60 and 4M30 cameras use DALSA's patented CMOS sensor technology with global shuttering to eliminate imaging issues often associated with full frame, frame transfer, or rolling shutter cameras, such as smearing or time displacement artifacts. In addition, features such as individual color gain and offset allow for white balancing of the image and make this color camera easy to use. Fully programmable with a Base or Medium Camera Link interface, the cameras incorporate vertical windowing, flat-field correction, exposure control, gain and offset adjustment and excellent antiblooming.

"High-speed image capture without smear or distortion, along with the capability for color imaging will prove to have tremendous value for inspection in industries such as electronics, semiconductor, and flat panel display inspection. Providing better image quality together with color images ensures more reliable inspections, which leads to fewer product defects," states Mark Butler, Product Manager at DALSA.

Key features include:
o Color, 4 megapixel resolution
o 60 fps
o Global shutter with exposure control
o Flat field correction
o Vertical windowing
o High speed 10 meter data transmission over Camera Link

The Falcon 4M60 and 4M30 Color cameras are available immediately. List pricing for the Falcon 4M60 is $5495 USD.

For more product information, visit the Falcon 4M60 product page or download the Falcon 4M60 data sheet.

The Falcon 4M60/4M30 Color Cameras are compatible with DALSA's X64-CL Series and Xcelera-CL Series of frame grabbers.
