The new 2mm Modular CBC 20 is a two-part modular plug and receptacle connector system that provides the interconnect headroom necessary to expand as design requirements change.
"The CBC 20 Tempus connector system is unique in that the contacts are laid out in four or five rows on a 2mm pitch rather than in three rows on a 0.1 inch pitch," said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. "Unlike other comparable designs, this system affords customers the ability to not only expand with each application size requirement, but it also allows engineers to manipulate large amounts of data at greater speeds in the cable harnessing layout."
Available in four and five row versions, the cable receptacles include all components needed to assemble finished cable ends. The four row versions provide 4x6 and 4x12 contacts, while the five row versions are available in 5x6 and 5x12 contact versions. The receptacles accommodate AWG 24 to 30 wire sizes with insulation displacement contact (IDC). The IDC design offers quick termination without the need for wire stripping.
The Tempus cable connectors are fully compatible with IEC 61076-4-104 backplane connectors, and are ideal for use in telecommunication, industrial, medical, and instrumentation applications.
