BASF Introduces Joncryl® 2350 Emulsion
Improved ink properties at an economical cost in use
WYANDOTTE, MI, April 16, 2009 - BASF, the market leader in resins and emulsions for water-based inks and overprint varnishes, has introduced Joncryl® 2350, a styrene-acrylic, non-film forming emulsion designed for flexo and gravure ink systems.
The new Joncryl 2350 imparts high gloss, clarity, and holdout in inks for high-end corrugated, folding carton, gift-wrap, and other paper packaging applications. This emulsion enables ink manufacturers to formulate clean printing, low HAPS and low VOC inks.
"We now offer ink makers a non-film forming emulsion that provides an excellent combination of gloss, printability, and ink viscosity stability at an economical cost in use," said Richard Grandke, Industry Manager for BASF Resins, Printing and Packaging for North America.
The new Joncryl 2350 complements the current line of BASF Resins' Rheology Controlled emulsions that are available in a broad range of non-film forming or film forming properties.
