New Roll & Receiver Mounts Adapt to Many Machines

Peabody, MA, April 2009: Pinpoint Laser SystemsŪ is announcing the introduction of a new set of Microgage Receiver Mounts that can adapt to a wide variety of production machinery and equipment. The Roll Mount, shown in the attached photo, is specifically designed for mounting the Laser Microgage Receiver on a roll or shaft surface for checking height, profile or parallelism to other nearby shafts and rolls. This particular mount has two parallel mounting bars that are fully adjustable inwards or outwards to accommodate shafts or roll surfaces of different diameters. The Microgage Receiver is supported on a stainless steel post and can be adjusted up or down for placement on many machines. A pair of locking collars allows the receiver to be turned on the post while still maintaining a precisely fixed height above the roll or shaft surface.

This new Roll Mount is the newest addition to a family of machinery mounts that Pinpoint has specifically developed for precision alignment and measuring. We offer mounts with magnetic bases for a secure fit to steel or other ferrous metal machinery components, and mounts with profiled surfaces for machinery and equipment that have profiled features that require alignment. We also offer tapered fixtures and expanding mandrels ideal for centering the Microgage system in bores and tapered extruder barrels for alignment. In addition to a wide family of standard mounts and fixtures, Pinpoint can also custom design new mechanical mounts to address specific customer needs.

This newest Roll Mount and the broad family of other mounting fixtures are fully compatible with Pinpoint's Microgage line. The Microgage measuring and alignment system uses a Laser Transmitter and Digital Receiver to check the straightness, flatness, squareness, parallelism, bore alignment and other geometric features on production machinery and industrial equipment. All Pinpoint products are versatile, portable, compact, easy to use and precise, capable of delivering 0.0001 inch measuring accuracies over distances of 150 feet or more. Pinpoint products are designed and manufactured for heavy industrial use and are machined from solid aluminum with stainless steel hardware and durable glass optics.
