Elma Announces Heat Sink Front Panels

Fremont, CA, Apr 09, 2009 - Elma Electronic Inc, a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, has announced a new line of front panels that also act as heat sinks. The panels dissipate heat while covering open sections of an enclosure.

The Elma front panel heat sinks are aluminum-based, which have lower costs, are easy to cut and machine, have high thermal capacity, low density, and light weight. However, other materials are available upon request. The heat sink surfaces are black anodized, providing an order of magnitude higher emissivity than an untreated surface. Clear-anodized versions are also available.

The heat sink front panels come in various sizes and configurations, but are specifically designed for 19" technology. The cooling fin extrusion has a width of 42 HP and comes in 1U high increments. Each fin is built upon a 1.5 HP pitch to guarantee enough space in between for screw heads. Therefore the fins do not need to be modified for mounting. EMC versions with a mounting bracket for gaskets are also available.

The Elma heat sinks can be used on all types of devices to provide extra heat dissipation, along with a more stylish appearance. This includes products in Industrial, Medical, Transportation, Consumer, Mil/Aero, Test & Measurement, and Communications markets.

Lead-time of stock is up to 2 weeks.
