Quest Introduces its New TELSEC® DIEM (Digital Input Expansion Module)

March 1, 2009

Palmetto, Florida - Quest Controls, Inc. is pleased to introduce its new TELSEC® DIEM (Digital Input Expansion Module) designed for monitoring equipment and environmental alarms in central offices, data and switching centers, cable headends and other larger facilities.

The TELSEC® DIEM Peripheral provides up to 200 digital inputs, thereby expanding the TELSEC monitoring point capability to 232 inputs. The rack mount DIEM works with all models of the TELSEC® 1500/2000 WM (wall mount) and RM (rack mount) family. "Increasing the monitoring point capability enables Telecom and Cable users to monitor more equipment failures such as fuse panels, rectifier, and generators as well as more building alarms," said Ed Goggin, President of Quest Controls. "Quest can now meet the monitoring needs of their larger facilities."

The DIEM fits in a standard 19" or 23" rack and has 25 pair connectors for cabling to field wiring devices such as wire wrap blocks, punch blocks (66/Krone) or screw terminal modules. This expansion shelf is easy to install and configure, allowing the end-user to quickly increase the alarm monitoring with little effort. All inputs are individually isolated and designed to monitor dry contact closures, wet contact closures and shunts to ground.

The TELSEC® performs HVAC and Environmental monitoring and control, power plant, UPS, generator, invertor, TVSS, and/or phase loss monitoring, equipment failure monitoring including rectifiers and fuse panels, intrusion alarming and door access control up to four doors, tower light monitoring, and video camera monitoring all in one compact system. Two-way communications for alarming and remote interrogation results in reduced visits to remote sites due to false alarms and more effective use of available personnel through quicker inhouse and field diagnosis of problems.

Quest Controls, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets a complete family of remote surveillance products that provide monitoring, control, and test solutions for the telecommunications, cable, and commercial industries. The TELSEC®, NANA®, ADAM(TM), & Q3(TM) product families provide alarm performance, monitoring, control, and test of a facility's critical operating environment and equipment to maintain and ensure each facility's smooth and continuous operation. Quest Controls, Inc. also provides installation services as well as 24/7 monitoring and service contracts.
