Fastening Device is designed for rotating components.
March 23, 2009 -
Featuring infinite radial and axial adjustments and quick lock and release action, M-Type Shaftloc® provides locking solution for rigidly mounting hubless gears, sprockets, pulleys, cams, or thin-walled components onto an inch or metric shaft. Asymmetric thread geometry of stainless steel unit produces radial clamping force when nut is tightened. Available from stock to fit .375, .500, and .625 in.; 10, 14, and 16 mm shafts, Shaftloc® system installs with standard tools and is reusable.
New M-Type Shaftloc® Rotating Component Fastening from SDP
New Hyde Park, New York --The new M-Type Shaftloc® rotating component fastening device from Stock Drive Products - SDP, (an ISO 9001 manufacturer), is used as a locking device for rigidly mounting hubless gears, sprockets, pulleys, cams or any thin-walled components onto an inch or metric shaft. They feature infinite radial and axial adjustments and quick lock and release action.
Shaftloc® is the superior way to fasten rotating components, excelling because of its simplicity, it contains all structural features in only two parts. Due to its asymmetric thread geometry, a large radial clamping force is produced when the nut is tightened. It is a precision dynamically balanced product suitable for high-speed applications. This simple two-piece keyless fastener can be installed within seconds, reducing assembly costs. Tightening the nut causes the slotted sleeve to contract, gripping the shaft and clamping the part to the sleeve at the same time. Keyways and screws are now obsolete; can be installed on shafts with existing keyways. Nonmarring to the shaft, the Shaftloc® system installs with standard tools and is reusable.
Distinct advantages of Shaftloc® over conventional fastening devices are: (1) Simplicity of design - only two parts (2) No marring of shafts (3) Easy repositioning or synchronizing (4) Ease of assembly (5) Applicability to small shaft diameters (6) Availability in all stainless construction (7) Ability to be used for stationary breadboard structures. Shaftloc® is available from stock to fit .375", .500", & .625"; 10 mm, 14 mm, & 16 mm shafts.
