Microwave Motion Sensors operate automatic pedestrian doors.

April 7, 2009 - RMS Series sensors actuate sliding, swinging, folding, and revolving pedestrian doors when approaching traffic is detected. RMS-M-NA sensor features single SPST relay output operating in NO or NC, while model RMS-D-RC-NA includes remote control with LCD display for programming and adjustments. RMS-D-NA sensor has turtle-mode capability to detect extremely slow motion. They can be mounted as high 13 ft and are compliant as an activation device to ANSI/BHMA 156.10-2005.

New Microwave Motion Sensors Deliver Highly Versatile Actuation of Automatic Pedestrian Doors

TWINSBURG, OH - Pepperl+Fuchs introduces RMS Series Microwave Motion Sensors. These microwave motion detection sensors are specifically designed to actuate automatic sliding, swinging, folding or revolving pedestrian doors when approaching traffic is detected.

Three models are currently available. The RMS-M-NA sensor is the basic model with 1 SPST relay output that operates in normally-open or normally-closed mode. The RMS-D-NA sensor features "turtle-mode" capability to detect even extremely slow motion, as well as cross-talk suppression that tunes out people who are walking past, but not towards, the door. In addition to these features, the RMS-D-RC-NA sensor includes a remote control with an LCD display for easy programming and adjustments, and to quick viewing of current settings and menu options.

"Compared with infrared based sensing technology, RMS microwave motion sensing is more immune to the effects of vibration, sunlight and temperature that can otherwise compromise reliable operation. Microwave sensing can also be mounted higher to detect approaching persons over a broader area, and it can sense through many types of enclosures," says Jeff Allison, Product Manager.

RMS microwave motion sensors have a compact, pod-shaped housing, with no external adjustments to eliminate tampering. They are easy to install and adjust, and can be mounted as high as 4 meters (13 feet). They are compliant as an activation device to ANSI/BHMA 156.10-2005, and are FCC compliant for use in the United States.

Pepperl+Fuchs is a world leader in the design, manufacture and application of high quality factory and process automation products and services. Pepperl+Fuchs pioneered the development of proximity sensors 50 years ago, and has set the standard for innovation and quality ever since.
