16-Channel ST Simplex Fiber Optic A/B/Off-Line Switch Employs Mirror Technology



Electro Standards Laboratories (ESL), Cranston, RI, has just announced its new QuickSwitch® Model 6259 16-Channel Fiber Optic ST Simplex A/B/Off-Line Switch. This Fiber Optic switch employs mirror technology and allows devices connected to the Common port of each channel to access the A or B port of each channel.

Enclosed in a standard 2U rackmount casing, the Model 6259 will go Off-Line on power loss and will stop passing data. The switch may be controlled locally by using the front panel pushbuttons. There is no remote control for this unit.

All 16 channels of this A/B/Offline switch are switched simultaneously and switch ports are transparent to all data. The A, B, and Common ports are ST, Multimode, 62.5/125 micron and support a wavelength of 850nm.
