March 17, 2009 - Designed for automotive industry, LAU220 pedal force load cell features removable mounting plates, strain relief, and machined slip-resistant top surface. Plug-and-play design allows monitoring of output of sensor, while spike resistance makes sensor resistant to impact loads and provide accurate readings without causing any damage. Metal foil strain gauge technology based unit has 17-4PH SS one piece construction and off-center loading error of less than 1%.

FUTEK Introduces LAU220 Pedal Force Load Cell with USB Option


FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technology, Inc. (FUTEK) has just added the LAU220 Pedal Force Load Cell to their USB Sensor Solution Line. The new module, with USB output, eliminates the need for an analog amplifier, power supply, and display equipment making usage that much easier. The plug and play gives you power to monitor the output of the sensor and enjoy measurement making it less affected by noise, temperature variation or power supply requirement. The USB integration also includes FUTEK's USB Software which allows users to monitor the output of the Sensor in real time. This particular model is a spike resistant Pedal Force Sensor with improved off center loading. Spike resistance makes the sensor far more resistant to impact loads, and provide accurate readings without causing any damage.

The LAU220 Pedal Force Load Cell has become one of the most common and trusted products in the Automotive Industry. From its 17-4PH Stainless Steel one piece construction, to its low profile design (Off-center loading error of <1%), the LAU220 Pedal Force Load Cell offers a great measurement system with impressive tolerances. This unit comes with removable mounting plates, custom built strain relief, and a machined slip-resistant top surface. The LAU220 Pedal Force Load Cell is manufactured in U.S., and similar to our entire Load Cell product line, uses metal foil strain gauge technology.

Pedal Force Load Cells are most commonly used in automotive applications such as brake pedal force measurement, vehicle brake homologation, and high precision trigger for brake testing equipment. This type of sensor is specifically designed to measure force that is required to operate a vehicle's primary brake, clutch, or floor-mounted emergency brake pedals. The LAU220 comes with 2 different mounting plates which are easy to install and remove along with a shunt cal resistor and carrying case making this a complete package.
