Rooftop Air Conditioning Systems feature modular design.


March 3, 2009 - Designed for use in heavy duty transit applications, UL Series has chassis design that utilizes lightweight recyclable materials for reduced fuel consumption, overall weight reduction, and reduced noise emission. UL500, 700, 800, 900 operate with heavy duty transit type compressor, while UL500 is also available with hermetic compressor for use on electric/hybrid vehicles. All models work with either high efficiency R134a or optional environmentally friendly CO2 refrigerant (R744).

UL Series Rooftop Air Conditioning Systems


Trans/Air Manufacturing, Dallastown, PA, in conjunction with Konvekta Thermosystems, Schwalmstadt, Germany are pleased to announce the introduction of the world's lightest roof mounted air conditioning units, the UL Series rooftop air conditioning systems.

The UL Series is designed specifically for use in heavy duty transit applications. The innovative design utilizes a modular concept which is low in materials and manufacturing cost. The chassis design utilizes advanced recyclable materials which are lightweight for reduced fuel consumption, and when combined with aluminum components, result in an overall weight reduction of 30% compared to conventionally designed air conditioning units. The high performance materials reduce noise emission for passenger comfort and provide an insulating factor for enhanced system performance.

The UL500, 700, 800, 900 Conventional Series is designed to operate with a heavy duty transit type compressor. The UL500 is available with a hermetic compressor for use on electric / hybrid vehicles. All UL products are designed to work with either high efficiency R134a or optional environmentally friendly CO2 refrigerant (R744).
