Digital Pulsers provide 1.3 A of minimum output current.
February 24, 2009 -
Utilizing active-clamping architecture, MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812 dual digital pulsers reduce 2nd harmonic output, and can be independently configured to enable unipolar or bipolar pulsing in high-voltage systems from low-voltage logic inputs. They operate from single positive supply up to +220 V, single negative supply down to -200 V, or dual ±110 V supplies. Specified over 0-70°C temperature range, units suit portable ultrasound imaging and industrial flaw detection applications.
Highly Integrated, Dual Digital Pulsers Utilize Active Clamping to Enhance Ultrasound Imaging
o The MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812* are dual, high-voltage digital pulsers that can be independently configured to provide unipolar or bipolar outputs from low-voltage logic inputs.
o These devices allow for faster ramp times and smaller delays between pulsing modes while improving pulse quality.
o Three logic inputs per channel and two independent enable inputs maximize speed, while active-clamping circuitry reduces the 2nd harmonic output to improve image quality.
o The MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812 are ideal for applications, such as portable ultrasound imaging and industrial flaw detection, in which board space and performance are critical.
SUNNYVALE, CA-December 18, 2008-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812* dual, high-voltage digital pulsers. Providing a guaranteed 1.3A (min) output current, these devices can be independently configured to enable unipolar or bipolar pulsing in high-voltage systems from low-voltage logic inputs. Three logic inputs per channel and two independent enable inputs ensure that the output MOSFETs are turned off to speed ramp times and minimize delays between pulsing modes. To improve image quality, these pulsers employ an innovative, active-clamping architecture to reduce the 2nd harmonic output and allow complete control of each driver's output stage. The MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812 are ideal for applications, such as portable ultrasound imaging and industrial flaw detection, in which board space and performance are critical.
The MAX4810/MAX4811/MAX4812 operate from a single positive supply up to +220V, a single negative supply down to -200V, or dual ±110V supplies. The MAX4810 features clamp-output overvoltage protection, the MAX4811 has pulser- and clamp-output overvoltage protection, and the MAX4812 offers pulsing without overvoltage protection. Fully specified over the 0°C to +70°C commercial temperature range, each device is available in a small, 7mm x 7mm, 56-pin TQFN package. Prices start at $6.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
