February 9, 2009 - Designed to collect 3D data positions and 3D point clouds with simple manual movements, Axxis Arms and Arm/Scanner systems provide solution for detailed measurements, reverse engineering, prototyping, and quality control. Arms come in 6 and 7 axis models with reaches of 2.6 or 3.2 m, and feature USB interface, and lightweight construction using aeronautical aluminum and carbon fiber tubes. Measurements are taken with laser line scanner or optional ruby tipped touch probe.

API Announces 'Axxis' Line of Portable Laser Scanning Measurement Arms Rockville, MD


January 8, 2009 - Automated Precision Inc., a leading global metrology company and inventor of the modern Laser Tracker, is pleased to announce the availability of a new line of portable measurement arms and scanners.

Designed to collect 3D data positions and 3D point clouds with simple manual movements, the Axxis Arms and Arm/Scanner systems are the solution of choice for detailed measurements, reverse engineering, prototyping, quality control, and 3-Dimensional inspection. Product packages include options for laser scanning (non-contact) and probing (contact) and are available for order immediately.
