Stackpole Electronics, Inc. Announces the Release of the WWS Series of Small Size High Power Wirewounds

Offering high power ratings per package size

RALEIGH, NC (January 21, 2009) - Stackpole Electronics, Inc. today announced the release of the WWS Series of wirewounds that provide higher power ratings in traditional body sizes. The WWS Series uses special processes, materials, and in some cases stabilization to achieve power ratings that are one or two sizes higher than the typical power ratings. This capability allows engineers to downsize designs without sacrificing power handling capability.

The WWS version of the popular WW Series still offers the same outstanding wide resistance value range and retains its ability to provide excellent precision down to 0.1% tolerances. The WWS Series is also capable of non-inductively wound designs, and can be customized to withstand high pulse power, high pulse voltage, and can be made fusible.

The new WWS Series is available in bulk or standard tape and reel packaging, with minimum quantities of 1000 pcs. Pricing varies widely with size, tolerance, and resistance value and ranges from $0.22 to $1.50 each in minimum quantities. Volume pricing will vary greatly; contact Stackpole Electronics, Inc. for volume pricing.

Stackpole Electronics Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of resistors supplying to the worlds largest OEMs, contract manufacturers and distributors. Headquartered in Raleigh, N.C., the privately held company began manufacturing in 1928 as part of Stackpole Carbon Company in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania.

Now affiliated with Akahane Electronics, Stackpole has manufacturing facilities in Japan, Taiwan, China and Mexico; warehousing facilities in El Paso, Hong Kong and Japan; and sales offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
