Surge Protector features LED to provide replacement alert.
January 16, 2009 -
EI-MSB10-400 substation surge protector is designed to protect sensitive substation instrumentation equipment from lightning strikes and/or electrical switching surges such as breaker operations, reclosing events. It protects up to 320 Vac (L-N /L-G) in AC networks, and up to 400 Vdc in DC networks . When the LED is On, it indicates that product is in normal operation, while needs to be replaced, when LED is Off. Protector is IEC 61643-1 and EN61643-11, Class 2 or Class 3 test compliant.
Surge Protector for Your Critical Substation Instrumentation
January 5, 2009, Westbury, NY - Electro Industries, one of the most innovative power monitoring manufacturers, introduces the EI-MSB10-400 substation surge protector. This product is designed to protect sensitive substation instrumentation equipment from the damaging effects of lightning strikes and/or electrical switching surges such as breaker operations, reclosing events, etc. The unit protects critical instrumentation in both AC networks up to 320VAC (L-N / L-G), and DC networks up to 400 VDC. The EI-MSB10-400 protects substation equipment from dangerous spikes and transients by absorbing the event with a multi-stage transient suppression scheme, before critical equipment is reached.
The EI-MSB10-400 is ideally suited to protect relays, meters, panel alarms, telemetry or any other critical substation equipment. The unit provides an indication LED which provides indication that the surge suppressor MOVs are exhausted and that the unit needs replacing. Essential to significantly improve equipment reliability, this unit is disposable and very low cost and can be easily mounted on a wall or plate with self-adhesive tape and replaced as needed.
The EI-MSB10-400 is also:
o Fully compliant with IEC 61643-1 and EN61643-11, Class 2 or Class 3 Test
o Designed to show when unit needs replacement.
The EI-MSB10-400 has an LED to provide a replacement alert:
When the LED is On, the EI-MSB10-400 is in normal operation and is providing surge protection
When the LED is Off, the EI-MSB10-400 needs to be replaced
