New Blue Bright Conversion Coating for Zinc Outperforms Yellow Hexavalent Chromates

Indian Orchard, MA. December 8, 2008. Heatbath Corp., a leading manufacturer of metal finishing products, has introduced Triumph Plus for zinc and zinc plating operations. Triumph Plus is a trivalent chromium blue passivate which increases corrosion protection previously achieved with yellow hexavalent chromate coatings.

Triumph Plus meets the latest automotive corrosion specifications as a hexavalent chromium-free process. This bright blue conversion coating is suitable for both rack and barrel plating applications.

Triumph Plus provides a durable operating solution with a longer bath life and increased tolerance to metallic impurities. Baths are operated at 70° - 90°F. The process is also cost-effective, operating at 3 to 6.5% concentration, with 4% the optimum. Triumph Plus is an excellent alternative for applications that require long-term corrosion performance, without the environmental or occupational exposure challenges of hexavalent chromates.
