Suited for appliances requiring low power, SBC81700 PICMG 1.0 single board computer is equipped with VIA CN700 digital media chipset with VIA VT8237R-Plus South Bridge. It supports dual-channel DDR2 400/533 DIMM sockets up to 2 GB and 2 SATA ports transferring at up to 150 MB/sec. Integrated VIA PadLock Security Engine and MFX-01 module provide data security, while VIA UniChrome(TM) Pro 2D/3D graphics with MPEG-2 decoding allows digital video playback.

September 24, 2008- AXIOMTEK's SBC81700, a new member of our PICMG 1.0 single board computers, is powered by an ultra low power VIA Eden® processor. It is a cost-effective solution for general purpose industrial market. Equipped with the VIA CN700 digital media chipset with a VIA VT8237R-Plus South Bridge, the SBC81700 supports VIA V4 Eden processor with a 400MHz front side bus, making it perfectly suited for appliances that require low power and legacy ISA operation environments. The integrated VIA UniChrome(TM) Pro 2D/3D graphics with MPEG-2 decoding provides smooth digital video playback.
To improve overall system performance, the SBC81700 supports high bandwidth dual-channel DDR2 400/533 DIMM sockets up to 2GB memory and two Serial ATA high-speed data transferring at up to 150 MB/s for improved data access. Data protection is assured with the integrated VIA PadLock Security Engine and the onboard MFX-01 module. Moreover, two highly integrated Realtek RTL8100C 10/100 Ethernet controllers support Boot ROM.
Other features include six USB 2.0 ports (2 ports through I/O bracket & 4 ports by pin-header), FDD, two COM ports (1 x RS-232, 1 x RS-232/422/485), two PS/2 ports, audio, and VGA. Besides, the SBC81700 also provides hardware monitoring function to detect temperature, voltage and cooling fan status. The built-in Watchdog Timer keeps the system running smoothly. Additionally, the SBC81700 is compatible with varied embedded operating systems including Microsoft Windows® XP Embedded and Windows® XP Professional, as well as Linux.
