Enabling password protection of all private information in Windows XP and Vista, multilingual software Hide Folders 2009's interface supports different languages. Software has 5 protection modes: hide, lock, hide and lock, read only, and no protected. When hide mode is enabled, protected file or folder is invisible to user, however, it still can be accessed if user knows path to object, where as in lock mode protected files or folders will be visible but inaccessible.

Hide Folders 2009 allows protecting files and folders from modification and making them inaccessible and invisible. Protected folders and files cannot be accessed by unauthorized users, either locally or over the net. Effective protection mechanism, intuitive interface, and set of fine-tuning options will suit everyone's needs from novice Windows users to experts. Hide Folders 2009 can easily protect unlimited number of folders and files on the PC at the same time. The files can be selected either by drag-and-dropping target files and folders from Windows Explorer into the Hide Folders 2009 window or by using Windows Explorer context menu. The program has several protection modes:
Hide - When this mode is enabled, the protected file or folder is invisible to a user; however, it still can be accessed if a user knows the path to the object. This feature is essential if a user wants to hide application folders, but allow running the applications from these folders.
Lock - Protected files or folders will be visible but inaccessible.
Hide & Lock - Protected files or folders will not be visible to a user and it will be impossible to access them.
Read only - Protected files and folders can be accessed, but no modifications to them are allowed. If a user protects folder content, he cannot copy files into the folder.
No protected - Files and folders remain unprotected.
The software allows easy password protection of files and folders. Specifying a password to Hide Folders 2009, a user protects his hidden files and folders from being accessed or opened by an unauthorized person. The new version of Hide Folders software is protected from resetting the password using third-party tools. Besides, Hide Folders 2009 includes a "Trusted processes" feature that allows "trusted" applications (antivirus and backup software programs) access to the protected data. With the Stealth mode it is possible to remove all the tracks of Hide Folders 2009. Even when Hide Folders application is not running, hidden files and folders remain invisible. Moreover, a user can remove Hide Folders 2009 application folder, and hidden files and folders will remain invisible. When a user quits Hide Folders, it can clear links to protected files from My Recent Documents folder, clear Recycle Bin files and folders that were protected before deletion. What is more, the software allows hiding uninstalled information about Hide Folders 2009 and hiding folders even under Windows Safe Mode.
Hide Folders 2009 is a multilingual software - its interface supports different languages and can be easily translated into new languages. At the time Hide Folders 2009 comes with English, German, Spanish, Russian and Finnish language files.
The program enables users to protect files by masks (e.g. protect only HTML files), change the default behavior of standard Microsoft Windows actions (close & minimize window) and assign hot keys to basic Hide Folder actions. Besides, the program supports NTFS, FAT and FAT32 file systems. No file system structure modifications will occur. Removing Hide Folders 2009 will not uncover hidden folders. Files from hidden folders will not be lost even if a user tries to remove or rename the upper level folder, as the program will prohibit this operation. With the help of Clear Recent Documents option, Hide Folders 2009 clears records of recently accessed documents. For higher security, Hide Folders 2009 removes itself from Add/Remove Software Control Panel applet and from the list of mostly used programs (Windows start menu). To avoid bringing the system down, Windows, Windows System folders and Windows partition root folders will not be hidden. Hide Folders 2009 supports national language characters in the folder name.
Finally, the intuitive interface will display all the required information in the most simple and consistent way.
