Yaskawa Introduces a Complete Array of Industrial Duty Brushless Linear Motors
Linear Sigma Series PMBL Servomotors Offer Wide Range of Force Capabilities for General Automation Applications
Waukegan, IL -- Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. launches the Linear Sigma Series, one of the most comprehensive lines of linear motors to enter the general motion control market in the U.S. Reflecting the company's rich history in critical linear motor applications, the newly standardized offering for the U.S. market includes coreless balanced linear motors and two types of iron core linear motors. The unique design of the iron core linear motors negates the unwanted effects of magnetic attraction between the iron core motor coil and the permanent magnet tracks.
Ranging from 140N to 6000N of linear thrusts and over 24 available coil configurations, the Linear Sigma Series, coupled with the high-performance Sigma II digital servo amplifiers, provides a cost-effective plug-and-play linear motor solution for virtually every machine design of today's fast paced industrial automation fields.
Because the Linear Sigma Series was developed as an integral component of Yaskawa's Sigma II Series AC servo system, the digital servo amplifiers utilize an intelligent serial encoder feedback system to automatically recognize which model of linear or rotary servomotor is connected upon power-up and automatically self-configure themselves. This feature enables quick and simple setup of the Linear Sigma Series drives, and increases system reliability.
The new Linear Sigma Series motors are available in two product levels. The level-I group, provides a wide array of linear motors with plug-and-play Sigma II servo amplifiers. The level-II group provides a range of fully-integrated linear positioning slides with linear encoders and amplifiers as an Ethernet-ready motion control system solution for the general automation industry.
In 1967, Yaskawa Electric America, Inc., a U. S. corporation, was created to provide automation solutions and support to customers in North and South America. Established in 1915, Yaskawa Electric Corporation has been leading the way in setting the industry's standards including becoming the world's first company to have manufactured and shipped over 10-million AC drives to go along with another 5,000,000 servomotors. Yaskawa holds international quality excellence awards, including the prestigious Deming Application Prize and its products are manufactured in ISO-9001:2000 registered facilities.
