CMD Now Delivers Plans & Specifications Online through CMD Connect(TM)

-CMD's Web-based content management program makes the estimation and bid process easier-

Norcross, GA (March 22, 2002) - CMD announces the addition of plans and specifications to its Web-based project delivery tool, CMD Connect(TM). CMD Connect helps users track and monitor commercial construction project leads provided by CMD. In addition to delivery of CMD's quality project news, CMD Connect now provides project plans, specifications and addenda, significantly increasing its value to the construction and manufacturing industries. This important feature will help trade contractors, estimators, building product manufacturers, distributors and suppliers identify profitable jobs for their firms by enabling them to select and qualify projects according to their own criteria.

CMD Connect allows users to access plans and specifications from any location with an Internet connection using a standard Web browser. Experienced CMD staff indexes all plans and specifications so that they can be searched using the Construction Specifications Institute's 16-division MasterFormat(R) classification system. In addition to integrating the plans and specifications service with the delivery of project news, CMD Connect also allows users to store personal information on the system, including contacts and task lists-helping users to better manage their relationships with design decision makers.

“CMD is excited to offer this easy-to-use and comprehensive national service," said Jonathan Seitz, Vice President of Product Management, CMD Connect. "The inclusion of plans and specifications on CMD Connect will allow construction and manufacturing professionals to increase their productivity by helping them identify projects with the highest potential for their firms; thus making it possible for them to proactively run their businesses."

CMD Connect provides plans, specifications and addenda in a standard image file format that can be viewed using generic imaging software found standard on most computer operating systems. For more advanced functions, including electronic takeoffs, CMD now supports the use of viewers developed by MaxView. These viewer functions can be used to identify job opportunities and produce highly accurate bids.

"CMD Connect with plans and specifications saves users time and money by delivering project documents straight to their desktops. By partnering this service with CMD project information, users will be able to gain the strongest competitive advantage," said Jonathan Seitz. "This supports CMD's goal to continuously develop new products to fit the needs of the various members of the construction and manufacturing industries."
