Push-In Contact Inserts Reduce Keying Time

The new push-in contact inserts for Phoenix Contact's Heavycon Series plug connectors reduce the time required for connecting wires and keying. Flexible wires with ferrules or rigid wires can be connected directly to the push-in contact inserts without tools.

To key the contact, the user simply inserts plastic pins into the contact coding slot. The new method takes only a few seconds. Using the standard method, the contact inserts' four fastening screws need to be removed first before the coding pins can be inserted. This process can take several minutes.

All fastening and connection screws are made of non-corrosive stainless steel. The new series B contact inserts are available in 6, 10,16 and 24 positions for 500 V/16 A with a wire size of AWG 20-14 for screw connection and AWG 20-12 for crimp connection.

Phoenix Contact is a world leader in electrical connection, electronic interface and industrial automation technologies. Phoenix Contact's formal Integrated Management Systems meet International Standards Organization (ISO) quality, environmental and safety requirements (ISO 9001:2000, 14001:2004 and 18001:1999).
