Vicon Offers New Low-Cost Version of Its Roughneck(TM) V910 Impact-Resistant Camera Domes

Hauppauge, NY, October 29, 2008 - Vicon Industries Inc., a leading designer and producer of digital and IP video surveillance systems, announced today the expansion of its Roughneck line of impact-resistant camera domes to include two new cost-effective models. One is analog; the other is IP. Designed for use in potentially abusive conditions, such as correctional facilities, warehouses and loading docks, the new models feature digital noise reduction, allowing them to perform in light levels as low as 0.3 lux. A heater is available in the IP model to allow for operation outdoors, in low temperatures and in all weather conditions.

Cameras feature a 3.3-12 mm varifocal auto iris lens and may be positioned both horizontally and vertically, allowing for a wide range of viewing angles in any direction. The camera's mounting base screws directly to walls and ceilings, reducing installation time. The dome may also be hung in a pendant configuration or in-ceiling using accessory kits available from Vicon. Both models may be used within a ViconNet digital video management system.

Cameras are in-stock and ready for shipment. MSRP for the analog model is $594; $1164 for the IP model with heater.
