P&S Adds New Dimmer to Harmony Family of Lighting and Fan Speed Controls
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Oct. 14, 2008) - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading manufacturer of electrical wiring devices and home systems, announces its newest addition to the Harmony family of lighting and fan speed controls, the Harmony Dimmer, designed for use with 120-volt "2-wire" dimming ballasts.
All Harmony Dimmers feature a large, attractive captive paddle on/off air-gap switch, a preset dimmer slide, a Green LED locator light, and EMI/RFI reduction circuitry. Power failure memory is standard. The fluorescent Harmony features an adjustable low-end trim pot ensuring the best possible dimming range.
The Dimmer offers easy installation, and can operate single pole or 3-way circuits. It can handle up to 8 amps total load in single and 2-gang installations. The fluorescent Harmony is designed to control Advance Mark X and similar style ballasts.
"We've seen an increase in the use of fluorescent dimming ballasts in both commercial and residential settings," said Mike Piraino, lighting controls market development manager for P&S. "For example, Title 24 in California promotes the use of fluorescent lighting in homes. This requires commercial style recessed cans. These fixtures can only dim if equipped with dimmable ballasts and controlled by a dimmer designed for the ballast."
The Dimmer comes in five colors: white, ivory, light almond, black and brown, and is available in a matte finish.
