Hypertronics Introduces the HTT Product Series, a Line of Durable High Temperature Contacts Designed to Enable Continuous and Reliable Operation in Extremely Harsh Environments

Hudson, MA (Sept 16, 2008) Smiths Interconnect, a division of the global technology business Smiths Group today announces that Hypertronics Corporation, a world-leading provider of high performance interconnect solutions, releases their HTT Product Series, a line of high temperature contacts that are designed to enable continuous operation in extreme environments ranging from -65° C to well above 400° C. The new HTT Product Series contacts significantly outperform and outlast any previous high temperature contact. HTT is the ideal interconnect solution for applications involving extreme thermal environments such as rocket, jet and turbine engines, industrial machinery, oil and gas exploration and power generation.

Hypertronics HTT contacts are high temperature resilient versions of the superior Hypertac® contacts that engineers have relied on for decades. The unique Hypertac® hyperboloid wire basket design creates 360 of wiping action resulting in multiple points of contact and has extremely high immunity to shock and vibration. The patented design also offers the legendary contact life of 100,000+ mating cycles and extremely low insertion/extraction for superior performance and reliability.

The new HTT Product Series are made from corrosion resistant materials that meet the increasing technological demands of the aerospace, military and industrial industries where continuous operation in extreme environments is required. HTT contacts are customizable with a scalable technology easily adapted to application specific requirements where the operating environment exists at elevated temperatures for extended periods of time. In independent testing, the HTT Series contact given a 10 Amp current rating operated continuously at 440° C with no performance degradation, while the industry standard high temperature BeCu contact tends to fail when temperatures exceed 220°C.

"Design engineers have trusted Hypertronics to provide reliable interconnect solutions for their mission critical applications for decades. We strive to take the leadership in technology innovation and develop products that set new industry standards for performance," Vadim Radunsky, President stated. "We are excited to announce another customized product that addresses a prominent concern for applications requiring ultimate performance in extreme conditions. The HTT Product series is designed to offer high performance in high temperature applications with continuous operation to."
