Providing long read/write range up to 100 or 6 m, depending on tags, Model 8170001 RFID Reader/Writer PCMCIA Card can read at high speeds of 100 tags/sec and can also identify 2,000 tags simultaneously. Card uses UHF radio frequency technology with advanced anti-collision algorithm, allowing it to accurately transmit and receive information to and from thousands of RFID tags. With PCMCIA interface, it can be conveniently plugged into any laptop, handheld, or mobile computer.

Toronto, Canada-GAO RFID Inc. (http://www.GAORFID.com) has announced the release of a long range interrogator in a PCMCIA card format. This RFID Reader/Writer card, GAO Model #8170001, is a long-range (up to 100 meters) interrogator in a PCMCIA card format that minimizes human intervention while achieving extremely reliable performance of real time data collection in identification, tracking, tracing, and localization of assets or people.
This card uses UHF radio frequency technology with an advanced anti-collision algorithm, allowing it to accurately transmit and receive information to and from literally thousands of RFID tags. It can be conveniently plugged into a laptop, handheld or mobile computer, and ships with development software for application development under Windows CE/9x/NT/ 2000/XP and Linux. The software also enables it to process data and update firmware from the PCMCIA- or serial interface.
