Acrylic Foam Tapes for Solar Panel Assembly

High Performance Adhesive Tapes Improve Aesthetics and Reduce Weight

Windsor, Conn. - September 23, 2008 - Scapa North America offers a line of high performance acrylic foam tapes used to assemble solar panels and photovoltaic modules. Scapa acrylic foam tapes (AFT) provide permanent, reliable bonds to glass, foil, metal, composite and plastic substrates. These tapes also help protect the solar panel assembly from corrosion, vibration and other stresses found in outdoor applications.

Formulated to withstand UV, weather and temperature variations, Scapa acrylic foam tapes provide excellent long-term holding power and maintain adhesion even at sub-zero temperatures. Offering excellent aging and weathering properties, these acrylic foam tapes will withstand thermal movement, yet will not absorb moisture or become brittle with age. All products are flexible, compressible and conformable for easy application to intricate contours.

Invisible within the assembly, Scapa acrylic foam tapes reduce the number of mechanical fasteners and welds required, which in turn creates a more aesthetically pleasing and lighter glass solar panel. Products are available in a range of thicknesses for varying applications.
