TCS Healthcare Fully Launches AcuStrat, a Dynamic Data Mining and Population Management Tool
AcuStrat Helps Turn Patient Information into Actionable Events and Promotes Automated Care Management Workflows
AUBURN, Calif., Sept. 17 - TCS Healthcare Technologies, an industry leader in the development of medical management software applications, is announcing the launch of AcuStrat, version 3.0. AcuStrat serves as a sophisticated, yet easy to use and effective data mining and population management tool. AcuStrat helps automate and standardize care management processes in a wide array of health care settings.
"TCS is excited about adding AcuStrat to its list of care management software offerings," notes Rob Pock, TCS Healthcare Technologies Founder and CEO. He explains, "AcuStrat further enhances the acuity advanced care(TM) (ACUITY) platform and other TCS applications. The electronic tool operates in a wide array of health care and technology settings. Early AcuStrat users are seeing phenomenal results through a very cost-effective and flexible platform."
Jean McCabe, RN, CCM, Clinical Business Analysis and Standards Specialist for Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, observes that, "Just a few months after integrating AcuStrat into our care management operations, Neighborhood is already documenting improved efficiencies and quality results. By using AcuStrat, we now have an almost unlimited ability to turn patient information into actionable events, using a full array of automated functions. It saves an immense amount of time for staff."
Michelle Lupoli, RN, MS, CCM, Director of Medical Management at Neighborhood adds, "Through the use of ACUITY and AcuStrat, Neighborhood is transforming our medical management workflows, which is benefiting members in ways that we only imagined a few years ago. By partnering with TCS and leveraging their technology, we have the information we need to more effectively manage care and improve clinical outcomes."
Pat Stricker, RN, M.Ed., Vice-President of Clinical and Client Services at TCS, says, "AcuStrat is clearly a cutting-edge care management solution. By automating critical screening and medical management actions, AcuStrat helps drive and enhance workflows to standardize clinical interventions. This application is taking care management interventions to the next level."
Pock adds, "AcuStrat eliminates the need to sift through data manually because the sophisticated, electronic filters are easy to configure and use. The efficiency gains from this product, when used in conjunction with ACUITY or other applications, will free up needed clinical resources and allow the sponsors of care management programs to expand services."
McCabe elaborates, "We use AcuStrat in Neighborhood's Bright Start pre- natal program to identify expectant mothers. The system then automatically sends these identified individuals a maternity package and, if additional triggers are met, automatically enrolls them in a wellness maternity program. We have also used it to identify patients who have Asthma through HEDIS benchmarks, which are coded into AcuStrat."
Lupoli comments further, "As a result of these and other successes, AcuStrat is becoming a key strategy within our health plan to get things done and achieve many of our quality improvement objectives. Many of our frontline case managers now report that using AcuStrat in conjunction with ACUITY has dramatically increased the amount of time that they can spend with their patients. We are very pleased so far."
Among other attributes, Stricker explains, "AcuStrat automatically:
o Stratifies health and demographic data within a designated population
o Links to various claims, pharmacy, predictive modeling and other data mining solutions
o Schedules and assigns follow-up tasks
o Schedules mailings and turn-around time alerts
o Generates notifications and other correspondence."
She adds, "AcuStrat also helps with quality assurance activities such as:
o QI controls for monitoring staff
o Data cleanup, catching missing or erroneous information
o Inactivity alerts
o Risk management programs."
