ZIP-V(TM) Electric Chain Hoist by Morris Material Handling Is Safe, Reliable, and Low Maintenance

OAK CREEK, WI (August 28, 2008)-Morris Material Handling, Inc., the original equipment manufacturer of P&H® cranes, hoists, and replacement parts, introduces the ZIP-V(TM) Electric Chain Hoist. The ZIP-V(TM) Electronic Chain Hoist, with lifting capacities from 1/8 to 5 tons, is safe, reliable, and easy to maintain. The ZIP-V(TM) Electric Chain Hoist is available in various speeds and frequencies, and is adaptable to any application.

The ZIP-V(TM) Electronic Chain Hoist is easy to maintain-corrosion resistance is achieved by an epoxy paint finish that is 80 microns thick and an Electro-Zinc plated load chain. The five-pocket load wheel provides smoother lifting, more accurate load positioning, and longer chain life than hoists with four-pocket load wheels. The plug-in pendant station, a standard feature, makes the ZIP-V(TM) installation efficient and easy to maintain. The ZIP-V(TM) is also equipped with a standard chain container which is designed to resist oil and dirt, and keeps excess chain clear of moving parts to prevent snags or damage to the lift.

The ZIP-V(TM) is equipped with a slip clutch that protects the operator and equipment from dangerous overloads and increases the safety of the operation. In addition, a standard upper and lower travel limit switch is equipped with an automatic shut off, which prevents misuse. The standard emergency stop button allows for quick access to the emergency shut off.

The precision ground gearing AGMA 10 provides quiet, smooth operation and extended life. The variable frequency speed drive, one of three speeds available, offers minimum and maximum speed settings for reduced wear on equipment and the dynamic braking for smooth stops and extended brake life. As an option, the hoist control can be supplied with an hour calculator to allow scheduled preventive maintenance and safe working period calculation.

Other features of the ZIP-V(TM) include: trolley brake, bumpers, drop lugs, and a thermal protected hoist motor. The ZIP-V(TM) has three optional trolley models: the Patented Track Trolley for maximum bearing surface contact; the Swivel Motor Driven Trolley for shorter curve radius tolerances; and the Low Headroom Trolley for maximum lifting heights in tight clearances. The ZIP-V(TM) is also available in a single phase unit, with lifting capacities from 1/8 to 1 ton. Additional optional features include: outdoor weather protection, special hoist control, and food grade specifications.
