Fiberguide Industries Introduces Line of Hard Clad Silica and Hard Clad Silica/Silica Fibers

Stirling, New Jersey - Fiberguide Industries, Inc. introduces its line of large core multimode optical fibers featuring Hard Plastic Clad standard Silica core fibers with a Numerical Aperture (N.A.) of 0.39 and Hard Plastic Coated Low Hydroxyl (OH) Silica core fibers with a N.A. of 0.22 and attenuation of 3.5dB/km @ 800nm // 8.6dB/km @ 1060nm respectively

Ted Rich, Founder and President of Fiberguide states: "Fiberguide will continue to offer the broadest selection of fiber optics for the most demanding OEM applications and cost effective solutions".

Features and Benefits of the Hard Clad fiber include, but are not limited to:
o High concentricity and core-to-clad ratio for excellent connection alignment, fiber core positioning and high transmission bundles
o Hard polymer coating for increased fiber strength, reduced static fatigue in humid environments, and protects the fiber during buffer stripping to prevent fiber breakage
o Robust Hard Clad bonding to prevent pistoning and provides more stable crimp-and-cleave or epoxy terminations
o All materials are Biocompatible and tested against USP Class VI

Product applications of the Hard Clad fiber include, but are not limited to:
o Laser delivery systems
o Medical for Laser and Sensor Technologies
o Short to medium distance data communications
o Factory automation
o Near-IR spectroscopy
o Optical pyrometry
o Automotive cabling

About Fiberguide
Fiberguide has been supporting the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) worldwide in taking their concepts and ideas to market since 1977 with a comprehensive line of standard and custom high optical transmission multimode, single mode and graded index optical fibers from the UV (180nm) to IR (2.7 microns), and temperature ranges from -269ºC to +700ºC (through the application of various buffer materials). Our staff of engineers, technical sales professionals and experienced production team unites in developing product specific to individual applications. We design and engineer assemblies using not only our own pure silica core/silica clad, silica core/plastic clad fibers, but borosilicate glass fiber, ESKA(TM) plastic optical fiber, fluoride fiber, chalcogenide fiber, erbium-doped fiber and polarization maintaining fiber as well, exhibiting numerical apertures (N.A.'s) from 0.12 (full acceptance angle 14o) to 0.66 (full acceptance angle 82o), with the widest range of custom and standard endfittings/connectors and outer jackets to tailor a product to technical and economic requisites.

Fiberguide is also active in the design and manufacture of ultra precision high density 2D arrays (patents issued), V-Groove arrays designed for optical switches, WDM/DWDM and arrayed active devices; cables for SERCOS digital interface and VersaLink industrial automation; and reflection/ backscattering probes for measuring specular or diffuse reflection from a surface. Fiberguide is FDA registered as a Contract Manufacturer and Custom Device Manufacturer.

Fiberguide Industries, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Halma with a corporate and optical fiber manufacturing facilities located in Stirling, New Jersey, and a manufacturing/assembly facility in Caldwell, Idaho.
