August 25, 2008 - Including 11 halogen-free, Pb-free, and RoHS-compliant devices, EL3H7-G series 4-pin SSOP phototransistor optocouplers offer operating temperature range of -55 to 110°C, multiple current-transfer-ratio bins, and breakdown voltage of 80 V. Available in 2 mm package with 1.27 mm lead pitch, units have 5 mm creepage distance, and are suited for use in dc-dc converters, battery chargers, general-purpose switching circuits, and programmable controllers.

Everlight's New 4-Pin SSOP Optocouplers Offer Power Supply Designers the Best Combination of Features for Simplifying Designs, Improving System Performance


EL3H7-G series incorporates wide operating temperature range, tight CTR binning, high isolation voltage and high BVceo in an ultra-low-profile package

CARROLLTON, Texas -- August 15, 2008 -- Everlight Electronics Co. Ltd . (TSE: 2393) introduces 4-pin SSOP phototransistor optocouplers with the best available combination of key specifications sought after by power supply designers. These include a low-profile (2 mm) package, high isolation voltage (3750 Vrms), minimum creepage distance (5 mm), wide operating temperature range (-55 °C to +110 °C), multiple current-transfer-ratio (CTR) bins and high breakdown voltage (80 V). The new EL3H7-G series' 11 devices are well suited for use in DC-DC converters, battery chargers, general-purpose switching circuits and programmable controllers. Compared with conventional optocouplers, the EL3H7-G devices offer important features and benefits, including:

Smaller form factor (2 mm max. package height and 1.27 mm lead pitch) accommodates designs with limited board real estate

Higher temperature operation (110 °C vs. 100 °C) improves system reliability
Selectable CTR ranges characterized at low LED currents increase design flexibility
Higher isolation voltage (3750 Vrms vs. 2500 Vrms) improves insulation characteristics
Halogen-free, Pb-free and RoHS-compliant devices meet green environmental initiatives
The combined features provided by Everlight's new EL3H7-G optocouplers allow power supplies to deliver the maximum usable power over a wider temperature range. They also offer a wider margin of safety in applications and provide greater design flexibility for high-end applications.
