Nercon Announces New Horizontal Shelf Lowerator at Pack Expo - International

OSHKOSH - August 7, 2008 - Nercon Engineering and Manufacturing has developed a lowering solution for the food, baking and confectionery manufacturing industries. The Horizontal Shelf Lowerator is an easily cleanable solution, capable of high elevations with a small footprint.

The Horizontal Shelf Lowerator utilizes a diagonal pin placement in the chain and tray design that insures the trays remain horizontal as they travel both horizontally and vertically. The solid stainless steel tray has a spring loaded mechanism for quick removal for cleaning.

Nercon has manufactured the Horizontal Shelf Lowerator to travel between floors at a height of 16 feet. The frame due to its construction of formed channel modular steel, can offer even greater elevation changes.

The floor print for the Horizontal Shelf Lowerator is 3' x 5'. There are few lowering or elevating solutions with this level of cleanability that would compare to the relatively small footprint of the Horizontal Shelf Lowerator.

The infeed conveyor delivers the product onto the servo-controlled flights of the lowerator. Each shelf is perfectly timed to receive the product from the belt conveyor. At the discharge, shelves travel underneath a fixed blade that wipes the product onto the takeaway conveyor. This blade, made from UMHW, is also removable for cleaning.

Nercon has engineered the Horizontal Shelf Lowerator to operate at 10 to 45 products per minute. Greater throughput is possible depending on the height of the package relative to the number of flights that can be added to the design.

Nercon is well known as a designer, integrator and manufacturer of packaging and process conveyors and material handling equipment. The company has over 30 years of experience in engineering conveyors, equipment and customized conveyor lines.
The Horizontal Shelf Lowerator will featured in Nercon's booth (#N4136) at Pack Expo - Chicago, November 9-13, 2008, in a tray handling conveyor loop.
