High Speed Perpendicular Applications

HARRISBURG, Pa. - July 24, 2008 - Tyco Electronics, a leading supplier of high speed interconnect systems, further expands its Z-PACK TinMan product family with the introduction of the new Z-PACK TinMan orthogonal connector system. This new system offers two modules including a 6x6 (36 differential pairs) module and a 6x12 (72 differential pairs) module. These modules are ideal for high speed differential architectures utilizing midplanes with front and rear card interfaces.

The Z-PACK TinMan orthogonal connector system delivers 25 Gb/s performance with the 6x6 module and up to 20 Gb/s with the 6x12 module. The system is available with vertical headers and right angle receptacles for perpendicular interconnect solutions. While offering the same design approach as the standard Z-PACK TinMan connector, it also offers improved electrical performance, shorter traces and easier routing capabilities compared to standard perpendicular connectors. Samples are available upon request.

"Tyco Electronics is pleased to expand the Z-PACK TinMan product family with the new Z-PACK TinMan orthogonal connector system for high speed perpendicular applications," states Bob Hnatuck, Tyco Electronics product manager. "We are committed to providing technology-driven products to the marketplace based on the requirements and innovations of our customers. The Z-PACK TinMan orthogonal connector system is another example of that commitment."
