Field Tester is designed for carrier Ethernet networks.
August 20, 2008 -
Trend Unipro GbE features Ethernet analysis capabilities that allow field engineers to carry out cable tests, PoE verification, and BERT. Traffic generation is also incorporated along with filtering and analysis, IP ping, and trace route. It executes RFC 2544 tests and verifies connectivity, frame transportability, and throughput. Handheld, impact resistant tool incorporates range of tests including verification of auto-negotiation when connecting nodes and VLAN configuration and routing.
Trend Communications Launches New Rugged Hand-Held Test Tool for Field Testing of Carrier Ethernet Networks
Installers and maintainers of Carrier Ethernet now have a powerful new hand-held test tool - the Trend Unipro GbE, built to withstand the punishing demands of Ethernet field testing.
Trend Communications has added a Gigabit Ethernet tester, the Trend Unipro GbE, to the company's wide range of hand-held telecommunications testers and local access diagnostic tools.
The Unipro, designed for field engineers, is easy to use, hand-held, battery powered, rugged and impact resistant.
Sales and Marketing Director Ken Foan commented at the launch, "Trend has an enviable international reputation for easy to use, rugged and reliable testers. As the technology progresses we introduce the products demanded by the market place. Gigabit Ethernet is a technology where well engineered test equipment is vital - the Unipro fulfils that requirement."
Many Ethernet analysis facilities are incorporated in the Trend Unipro GbE allowing field engineers to carry out cable tests, verification of PoE (Power over Ethernet) and BERT (Bit Error Rate Testing). Traffic generation is also incorporated along with, filtering and analysis, IP ping and trace route.
The Trend Unipro GbE executes RFC 2544 tests and verifies connectivity, frame transportability and throughput. The instrument is very versatile, not only does it carry out standard tests but it also includes a range of sophisticated tests.
Advanced tests incorporated in Trend Unipro GbE include verification of auto-negotiation when connecting nodes, VLAN configuration and routing, admission control and congestion avoidance mechanisms, quality of service (QoS) provided by the network, and the service level agreements (SLA). A remarkably wide range of tests in such a small portable unit.
