ADLINK Technology Launches Server-Class 3U CompactPCI® Core(TM)2 Duo Processor Blades Designed for High Reliability and Energy Efficiency

cPCI-3920 Delivers Rugged Design to Support Next-Generation transportation, defence electronics and industrial automation platforms

June 19, 2008, Taipei - ADLINK Technology, Inc. (TAIEX:6166), a leading provider of trusted embedded products, today introduced the cPCI-3920, a high-reliability 3U CompactPCI® CPU blade that combines energy-efficient computing with powerful dual core and server class chipset performance and gigabit connectivity in rugged design to meet the demands of next-generation transportation, defence electronics and industrial automation platforms.

Available in 4HP(cPCI-3920A) and 8HP (cPCI-3920B) cPCI form factors, as well as an RTM configuration (cPCI-R3920T), the new CPU blade supports Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo, Core Duo and Celeron® M processors in FC-BGA package. In addition, it leverages advanced DDR2 architecture, with soldered register and ECC memory at 400MHz for up to 2GB. These innovations enhance system response and offer optimized performance while complying with the industry's power-saving measures.

"The cPCI-3920 is the ultimate CPU blade, delivering performance and reliability, to flexibility and energy efficiency -- to achieve their system design goals," said Jeff Munch, chief technology officer at ADLINK. "In addition, its rugged design makes it ideal for industrial, military and transportation environments."

Optimized for stability and packaged in a rugged format, the cPCI-3920 is built to withstand even harsh environment. Featuring dual PCI Express® gigabit Ethernet ports, configurable to front panel or RTM by software, the blades are equipped to provide both reliable network connectivity and superior remote management capabilities. For added flexibility, the cPCI-3920 also accommodates four COM ports; up to five, front-panel USB 2.0 ports; a front-panel VGA port; and PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports.

With multiple storage options to meet a wide range of customer requirements, the cPCI-3920 offers a pin header and mounting space within 4HP form factor for an on-board USB NAND flash disk with up to 8GB of memory, and one Serial ATA interface with mounting space for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive in the 8HP form factor. The RTM model is also designed with three ports for external 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA drives.

The cPCI-3920 supports Microsoft Windows, Linux Kernel 2.6 and Vxworks 6.6 operating systems.

The cPCI-3920 is now available from authorized ADLINK distributors and the company's direct sales office.
