Pregis Intros Astro-Bubble® Renew(TM), Economy Air Cushioning with 25% Recycled Content
Deerfield, Ill., August 6, 2008-Pregis Corp. is launching Astro-Bubble® Renew(TM), an economy air cushioning grade that contains 25% pre-consumer recycled content. The product is an ideal alternative for economy bubble users who want environmental benefits coupled with a less volatile pricing structure.

Because 25% regrind is used, the decreased dependence on 100% virgin resin smooths out spikes in cost which translates into more consistent pricing for Pregis customers. Renew also contributes to the conservation of petroleum-derived raw materials.
"This is an environmentally-responsible product which incorporates waste material that would otherwise be diverted into the waste stream," Lee says. "Astro-Bubble® Renew(TM) is the latest addition to the Pregis "green" family of products whose purpose is to address the growing need for sustainable packaging alternatives."
Due to the percentage and type of regrind being used, Astro-Bubble® Renew(TM) typically will have subtle color tones depending on which colorants are part of each specific batch. (Most frequently, the grade will have a silvery tone, but other subtle shades may also occur.)
