Anchoring System aids terra cotta repair and attachments.

August 4, 2008 - CINTEC Design Anchor System stabilizes and strengthens terra cotta structure. Main steel body of anchor is surrounded by fabric sock. Anchor is placed in oversized drill hole joining materials to be anchored together, fluid grout is injected under pressure through middle of anchor. When it reaches remote end, it passes through flood holes into fabric sock, inflating assembly. System has 2-hr plus fire rating and can be installed to be invisible.

CINTEC Offers Anchor System for Terra Cotta Repairs

Stainless System Uses Specialized Injection Technology to Form Permanent Bond

CINTEC America, a world leader in the field of structural masonry retrofit strengthening, repair, and preservation, is offering a stainless steel anchoring system that is ideal for terra cotta repair and attachments.

The CINTEC Design Anchor System is a versatile method of structural reinforcement tailored to meet the specific strengthening and repair requirements of individual projects. CINTEC anchors can be used to repair and reattach terra cotta used in historical buildings, masonry bridges, monument repair, high rise building, retaining walls, and harbor walls.

Compatible with the terra cotta and the substrate, the system has a two-hour plus fire rating and can be installed to be invisible. No other anchor system in the world offers this level of design flexibility. The anchors are constructed from stainless steel Grade 304 or 316 depending on site locations and conditions.

CINTEC anchors can stabilize and strengthen a terra cotta structure without the need for external and internal steel bracing. The main steel body of the anchor is completely surrounded by a fabric sock. The anchor is located in an oversized drill hole joining the materials to be anchored together. Fluid grout is injected under pressure through the middle of the anchor, until it reaches the remote end. It then passes through a series of grout flood holes into the fabric sock. The entire assembly inflates like a balloon under the pressure.

The excess milk of the grout and bonding agent passes through the fabric sock, both fixing and providing a mechanical bond to the parent material. Variation in the size and shape of the individual components enables the basic method to be extended to meet the designer's requirements. The anchor is easily fixed, even in weak substrates, and can be used as a permanent solution.
