Altech® Fireproof Enclosures Protect Electrical Systems in Emergencies

Altech® fireproof enclosures protect electrical systems during emergencies to retain system function and deliver necessary power for life-saving escape routes and rescue equipment. These rugged and shock-resistant fire-protection solutions can safeguard secure power supplies in rail and highway tunnels, mining operations, industrial plants, high-rise buildings, and countless other locations potentially at risk for catastrophic fires.

The terminal boxes can sustain flame protection up to 90 minutes in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 12, depending on model, and offer ingress protection (water leaks) to IP 54 or IP 66. Halogen-free duroplastic construction contributes to safe operation by eliminating the potential for metal-induced short circuits.

Enclosures are available in a wide range of sizes with 3-pole, 5-pole, or 8-pole terminal blocks, depending on model, and incorporate flexible wiring for easy configuration. All versions are self-extinguishing and can be lead sealed. External mounting options include standard fastening kits or stainless steel dowels to withstand corrosive sites.

Accessories include suitable blanking plugs and adapters, among others, and custom housings can be developed to satisfy particular application demands.
