The 6040 is a full-featured 4 KVA AC power source that offers automation control and several enhanced features and protection circuits. The 6040 includes a standard RS-232 serial interface and is available with an optional GPIB (IEEE-488) interface. It is well suited for many test & measurement, avionics, manufacturing, and military applications.
The 6040 provides variable output voltage from 0-300 V and output frequencies from 45-500 Hz. The input voltage is 208 V with an input frequency of 47 - 500 Hz. Equipped with a graphic LCD the operator of the instrument is able to easily monitor voltage, frequency, current, peak current, power and power factor simultaneously. Each parameter can be programmed independently along with other parameters such as ramping voltage, testing time, and high & low limits. The 6040 also provides 50 programmable memories with 9 steps for connecting routines. There is also a front panel rotary knob that allows for instant adjustments of voltage and frequency while testing. The operator also has control of the start/end angle of the wave form along with control of surge drop cycles. Additionally the operator can program the instrument for an auto looping cycle and an auto run mode, which is ideal for burn-in/life cycle testing. All of these features combine to make the 6040 ideal for a variety of power applications.
