Prepare for NESC 410.A.3 Now with Basler's Arc Flash Solution

May 2008

The National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is going to require all power generating utilities to perform Arc Flash assessments to determine potential exposure to an electric arc for employees who work on or near energized parts or apparatus.

Basler Electric Company has developed two new versions of the popular BE1-50/51B utility grade, plug and play relay that will help electric utilities meet NESC 410.A.3 requirement in a timely, cost effective manner by reducing the duration of the arc through faster fault clearing.

The Basler Electric BE1-50/51B-235 and 237, self-powered single phase overcurrent plug and play replacement relays, add the adaptability required for these short-term operating conditions defined by the NESC (arc flash hazards). These units directly fit into the existing case without the need for rewiring.

You can upgrade and meet the requirements with confidence, since thousands of IAC and CO distribution feeder relays all over the US have been upgraded with the BE1-50/51B-xxx plug & play products and the family continues to be the number one utility grade retrofit product on the market. Millions of trouble-free service hours have proven the 50/51B-xxx design to be rock solid and capable of performing in nearly any environment.

For more details on the new BE1-50/51B-235 and 237 arc flash solutions, visit the Basler web site and download our new Product Bulletin UHK or Arc Flash Solutions Flyer.

Basler Electric was founded in 1942 in Highland, Illinois, which is still the corporate headquarters for this multi-facility manufacturing company with other locations throughout the United States, Mexico and France.
