Welding Electrodes suit low-hydrogen applications.

August 1, 2008 - Featuring smooth, even burn-off, easy re-strikes, and clean weld puddle, ExcaliburŽ 7028 is designed for structural fabricators working with high depositions in flat and horizontal positions. Intended for ship and bridge structures, storage tanks, and general heavy fabrication, it exceeds AWS specifications for impact properties at temperatures below required 0°F. Arc characteristics give welders ability to deposit fillet and lap welds without undercutting.

Lincoln Electric Launches New ExcaliburŽ 7028

Low-Hydrogen Stick Electrode Offers Structural Fabricators Higher Deposition Rates and Faster Travel Speeds

o High-speed, high-deposition electrode designed for low-hydrogen applications in the flat and horizontal positions
o Smooth, consistent operation over a wide amperage range
o Excellent slag release and robust impact toughness

Cleveland - Lincoln Electric announces the addition of the new ExcaliburŽ 7028 low-hydrogen stick electrode to its premium line of Excalibur mild steel stick electrodes. The 7028 - designed specifically for structural fabricators working with high depositions in the flat and horizontal positions - offers the same superior characteristics of the Excalibur line with the enhanced capabilities of higher deposition rates and increased travel speeds.

Smooth, Consistent Arc Characteristics
Smooth, even burn-off, easy re-strikes and a clean weld puddle make Excalibur 7028 the ideal choice for maximum operator appeal. The excellent arc characteristics of 7028 give welders the ability to deposit fillet and lap welds without undercutting, while the superior operability of Excalibur 7028 makes it easy to repeat high quality, consistent welds.

Robust Mechanical Properties
Impact toughness gives Excalibur 7028 the mechanical properties necessary for a wide range of applications that demand strict weld requirements. This includes ship and bridge structures, storage tanks and general heavy fabrication. Excalibur 7028 exceeds AWS specifications for impact properties at temperatures well below the required 0°F.

Excalibur 7028 is available at a welding supply store near you. Or, call (888) 355-3213 or visit www.lincolnelectric.com to obtain Bulletin E3.37 to learn more.
