Fault Finder detects breaks and bends in optical fiber.

July 31, 2008 - With visible 635 nm red laser, FIBER-CHECKER can be used on fiber optic cable up to 3 km long to locate broken splice or fiber, identify overly tight cable ties, or isolate damaged connector. Break or bend in fiber is indicated by red light escaping from cable at fault point, and laser output from cable ends is clearly visible when facing flat surface approximately 6 in. away. Unit can be used to test all fiber connectors with 2.5 mm ferrule.
