Operating in 2.45 GHz band, Model 217002 is active, gain adjustable RFID reader that uses 0.18 µm CMOS IC for low power consumption and adheres to 802.11b wireless standard. Built-in, omnidirectional antenna can identify RFID transponder tagged items up to 100 m in all directions. Users can adjust read distance from less than 5 m up to 100 m. Unit supports dual operating modes, allowing for upload of data in real time or data buffering for later retrieval.

Toronto, Canada - GAO RFID Inc. (http://www.GAORFID.com) has newly released an Active (2.45GHz) Gain Adjustable RFID WiFi Reader, GAO Model No. 217002. The WiFi reader adopts the advanced 0.18um CMOS IC for ultra-low power consumption and adheres to the 802.11b wireless communication standard. As it is designed to operate in the unlicensed 2.45GHz band, the gain adjustable reader can be deployed in any environment.
This new model has many beneficial features including a built-in, omnidirectional antenna that can identify RFID transponder tagged items up to 100 meters in all directions, and it can read up to 100 tags per second. However, as the WiFi reader is gain adjustable, the users can adjust the read distance from anywhere between less than 5 meters up to 100 meters in accordance with their situational needs allowing for much more accurate tag identification. This active reader also features dual operating modes allowing for the upload of data in real time or data buffering for later retrieval.
