Framing Clamp System has 1,000 lb capacity per end clamp.
July 16, 2008 -
Designed for installing HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, vents, and skylights, framing roof openings, and supporting loads above or below roof decks, Framing Clamp System requires no welding or specialized tools for installation. System consists of End Clamps, T-Brackets, and Perforated Channels which are available in lengths up to 10 ft. In typical framing application, 4 End Clamps are attached to 2 parallel bar joists or beams, and each End Clamp occupies 1¼ x 3 in. space between joists.
Chicago Clamp Company Introduces New Framing Clamp System for the HVAC and Facilities Management Industries
Broadview, IL - Chicago Clamp Company has announced the introduction of their new Framing Clamp System for framing roof openings and supporting loads above or below roof decks. The patent-pending Framing Clamp System is ideal for installing HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, vents and skylights. It reduces labor costs and shortens installation schedules. Because no welding or specialized tools are required, installation and removal are easy, and the entire system can be conveniently relocated to meet your changing needs.
"Chicago Clamp Company has utilized over 30 years of engineering experience to create a safe, structurally reliable, and economical method for framing roof openings and supporting loads from joists", explains Design Engineer Douglas Morey. For decades, contractors have used traditional cutting, fitting, and welding methods. These methods require certified welding which can be expensive, complicated, hazardous, and if done incorrectly can compromise the integrity of the joist. "To eliminate these inherent project risks", continues Mr. Morey, "Chicago Clamp Company has developed the easy-to-install Framing Clamp System. The Framing Clamp System preserves the integrity of the trusses and saves installation time and money".
With a 1,000 lb. capacity per end clamp, the Framing Clamp System is perfect for framing roof openings or providing additional support for loads above and below the roof line. The Framing Clamp System consists of End Clamps, T-Brackets, and Perforated Channels. The Framing Clamp System was developed to be easily installed with the roof decking in place.
In a typical framing application, four End Clamps are attached to two parallel
bar joists or beams. Each End Clamp slides over the top of the joists and occupies a space that is 1¼" high by 3" wide between the joists and corrugations of a standard roof deck.
In most applications, four T-Brackets are used to anchor a perpendicular set of Perforated Channels. The vertical symmetry of the T-Bracket removes the possibility of installing the T-Bracket upside-down. Four Perforated Channels are usually required and are positioned between a pair of End Clamps or T-Brackets. Perforated Channels are available in lengths up to 10 ft.
"In conclusion", says Mr. Morey, "Chicago Clamp Company's Framing Clamp System is an innovative, safe, structurally reliable, easily adaptable, and economical system for framing roof openings and supporting loads from joists. The Framing Clamp System is easy-to-install and will save you time and money".
