Panasonic i-Pro Network Video Recorder Supports Advanced Imaging Technologies

o Customizable in 1TB HDD Increments

o Fits Diverse Combination of Surveillance Recording Needs

Secaucus, NJ (July 8, 2008) - Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company, has introduced a Network Video Recorder (NVR) engineered to maintain the quality and image integrity of IP camera-based video surveillance systems. The new i-Pro WJ-ND400 NVR Series can record up to 64 network cameras simultaneously with multi-format recording in MPEG-4 and JPEG to deliver recording performance on par with today's high resolution IP cameras.

"HD cameras demand a comparable recording format if the system is to truly benefit from the higher quality images," said Julianna Benedick, Group Manager of Marketing, Panasonic System Solutions Company. "As a leader in the security industry, Panasonic understands this and has developed edge devices such as the WJ-ND400 NVR to accommodate advanced imaging technologies."

Featuring superior functionality, the i-Pro WJ-ND400 offers metadata associated VMD for fast, effective search capabilities, as well as 2x and 4x digital zoom on live or recorded video. The WJ-ND400 also provides Panasonic camera control for pan/tilt, zoom, focus, brightness, preset position and auto mode, with quick IP setup for Panasonic i-Pro network cameras. Up to nine 1TB hot-plug hard disk drives can be installed for maximum on-board storage capabilities, while up to 16 clients can monitor and control the WJ-ND400 simultaneously.

In addition, eight recording programs can be set for each individual camera, with camera assignment of one to eight groups for easier browsing. Other features include multiple display modes and flexible playback controls for convenient monitoring of images. An embedded real-time operating system offers supreme reliability, while RAID5/6 provides redundant recording for data security.

"The marketplace continues to embrace network, hybrid and analog systems and end users are looking for the highest levels of flexibility and support," said Ms. Benedick. "Panasonic is providing that flexibility and support through our multi-platform systems solutions."
