Vishay Extends IHLP® Family of Low-Profile, High-Current Inductors with New Device in the 2020 Case Size
New Inductor Offers Compact 5.18-mm by 5.49-mm Footprint, High Maximum Frequency to 5MHz, and Low DCR Down to 3.6 mW Typical
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA - June 27, 2008 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced a new IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductor in the 2020 case size. The compact IHLP-2020BZ-01 offers a 5.18-mm by 5.49-mm footprint and ultra-low 2.0-mm profile, with a high maximum frequency and standard inductance values from 0.1 µH through 10 µH.
With a frequency range up to 5MHz, the new IHLP inductor serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator module (VRM) and dc-to-dc converter applications in end products including next-generation mobile devices; notebooks, desktop computers, servers, graphic cards, portable gaming devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, and automotive systems; low-profile, high-current power supplies and point of load (POL) converters; distributed power systems; and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
The IHLP-2020BZ-01 offers an inductance range from 0.10 µH to 10 µH, a saturation current range from 4A up to 45A, typical DCR from 3.6 mW to 184.0 mW, and maximum DCR from 3.9 mW to 199.0 mW.
The new inductor handles high transient current spikes without hard saturation. Packaged in an RoHS-compliant, 100% lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise to ultra-low levels, the new device is specified for an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, with high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, mechanical shock, and vibration.
Samples and production quantities of the new inductor are available now, with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery only in 10,000-piece quantities is $0.40 per piece.
