Bosch Upgrades Self-Feed Bit Line

Smoother, Cleaner Holes With Longer Life

Mount Prospect, Ill., July 2, 2008 - When trades people need clean, accurate holes in wood for pipe, conduit or tubing, they reach for a self-feed bit. Bosch Power Tools and Accessories redesigned their self-feed bit line for faster and easier cutting, even in wet wood.

Bosch now offers 13 bits ranging in size from 1" to 4-5/8" in diameter. All bits are equipped with a replaceable coarse threaded tip that draws the bit into the wood without user pressure, eliminating run-out or wobble and pulling through the wood for consistently more accurate holes. Deep gullets prevent the bit from binding before breakthrough.

These high-speed steel bits are engineered with precision hardened cutting edges, including the chip lifter and cutting spurs that can be re-sharpened to maximize bit life. With larger holes, users need more chip removal and Bosch's 3-5/8" and 4-5/8" bits feature a double chip lifter for optimal removal.

The 1" to 2- 9/16" bits feature a 7/16" hex shank which allows them to be used in quick change chucks and extension mates. Bosch incorporates a power groove in the shank that further enhances the chuck's gripping power. The larger bits, 3" and up, have a ˝" milled shank.

Each bit is accompanied by a replacement kit that includes an additional threaded screw tip, a set screw and hex wrench.
