Ipswitch Extends Lead in Enterprise Managed File Transfer Market with Release of MOVEit v5.5

New version quadruples number of transactions handled; users dramatically increase performance, transaction processing and interoperability

LEXINGTON, Mass., June 30 - Ipswitch, Inc. File Transfer division, the leading developer of secure and managed file transfer solutions, has introduced version 5.5 of its MOVEit Central automated secure managed file transfer and MOVEit DMZ encrypted file transfer and storage server software products. With this release, MOVEit Central, an enterprise-level Windows-based automated managed file transfer program and MOVEit DMZ, an enterprise-level encrypted transfer and storage server, are redefining the way businesses are able to leverage corporate data internally and externally with partners and customers.

Version 5.5 enables customers to further enhance operational performance and data security:

o Performance Quadrupled -- MOVEit Central is now able to handle up to 5,000 defined transfer tasks, and offers improved AS2 performance for receiving and processing bursts from major retailers to Fortune 500 suppliers. MOVEit DMZ server now supports up to 400 concurrent transfers.

o Windows 2008 Server Support -- MOVEit Central and MOVEit DMZ are fully supported for use on Windows 2008 Server and can leverage its core security elements, including its firewall.

o End-to-End FIPS 140-2 AES Encryption -- MOVEit DMZ supports end-to-end file transfer and storage using ultra-strong FIPS 140-2 validated 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard encryption.

o Expanded File Non-Repudiation Interoperability -- Files transferred between MOVEit Central and WS_FTP Servers, and between WS_FTP Professional clients and MOVEit DMZ servers, will now provide complete File Non-Repudiation (the ability to prove who sent a file, who received it, and that the file sent and received are identical) as required by GLBA, HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX and other data security and privacy standards.

"Ipswitch continues to raise the bar in the file transfer arena with the latest version of MOVEit V5.5," said Gary Shottes, president, Ipswitch File Transfer division. "Version 5.5 includes numerous file transfer management and performance enhancements, which are the direct result of real world operational feedback from MOVEit customers. Now customers can dramatically increase the limit of transactions they're moving, without compromising security. The increased pace and volume of business today is demanding transfer solutions that can keep ahead of the security curve, and version 5.5 provides this by leveraging the latest core Windows 2008 Server security elements to help protect corporate data."

About MOVEit Central

MOVEit Central is an enterprise-level Windows-based automated managed file transfer program able to securely pull, process and push files on a scheduled, event driven or on-demand basis between internal and external systems, including MOVEit DMZ servers. About MOVEit DMZ

MOVEit DMZ is an enterprise-level Windows secure managed file transfer server program that provides end-to-end encrypted transfer and storage of files, messages, and Web form postings. These can be pushed to, stored on, and pulled from MOVEit DMZ by applications and end-users using a wide variety of MOVEit and third-party secure file transfer clients (including regular Web browsers) that support the HTTPS or secure FTP over SSH2 or SSL transfer protocol standards. All data uploaded to a MOVEit DMZ server is carefully protected using its built-in FIPS 140-2 validated 256-bit AES storage encryption and secure permissions system.
